Palmettos On The Bayou: A Culinary Gem in Slidell, LA

Stopped in for a late lunch, the gator tail and fried green tomatoes are great! The chicken and waffles is amazing, they need to bottle the Tabasco honey! So good! The shrimp and grits are really good as well. Service was just a tad slow but they had an event out back so that maybe all it was.

I am from Kansas && I have ate at many places in my life- BUT This restaurant is by far the best place I’ve ever ate at, hands down. Food was fantastic, atmosphere, decorations, service. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. We will definitely be back in the future, even if it’s a 14 hour drive:)

This place is like a hidden gem! We had an amazing brunch here with friends on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere took us by surprise. Absolutely gorgeous and the service was fantastic. Food! Excellent. They also had live music. It’s a must if you’re looking for something different on the northshore and you are in Slidell. Try the Lemon drop and/or the Old fashioned.

We had our son & now daughter in law’s Rehearsal Dinner at Palmettos and everything was amazing! Food was superb! Everyone truly loved the food, the atmosphere & the service! Every special request we made, they responded quickly & with a smile! I highly recommend Palmettos your events! Decorations were by The Party Girl (she’s on Facebook)

Came here for Sunday Brunch. The choice of dishes was amazing- breakfast, carving station, lunch choices and desserts. The Creme Brulee French toast was excellent! We enjoyed some great live jazz music. The ambience and quality of food and service make Palmettos a place I’ll always choose when in Slidell.

We had just arrived in Slidell on Saturday to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Our VRBO was practically next door. Our host told us about their Sunday brunch. It was amazing. The food was delicious. The choices were unbelievable. A jazz band entertained us for a while, then a solo singer who played the keyboard took over. Both were very entertaining. All of the staff appeared to be working hard and were all very pleasant. Thanks to our waitress, Natalie, who was so sweet and helpful. Shout out to Jonathan. We thought he was the manager because he seemed to be everywhere, greeting all the customers, making sure they were taken care of. He said he wasn't, but I think he'd make a great one!

Loved the food, I had spicy wings, fries and homemade pickles that was too amazing 10/10... Staff was extremely friendly!!

Food was amazing and rich in taste but was surprisingly light feeling in the stomach, a balance that is seldom achieved at other resturants I feel. I enjoyed every part of my dining experience and all our dishes were phenomenal. Our waitress was extraordinary and so pleasant to have I would recommend her and palmetto's overall to anyone!
